Antimicrobial Resistance congress - Call for abstracts
6th Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance in Animals and the Environment (ARAE 2015), June 29 - July 1, 2015 at the International Convention Centre Tours Val de Loire – France.
Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the 6th Symposium on Antimicrobial Resistance in Animals and the Environment (ARAE 2015) which will be held on June 29 - July 1, 2015 at the International Convention Centre Tours Val de Loire – France.
The aim of the ARAE 2015 conference is to present a global vision of the impact of the use of antibiotics in livestock and their environment. All aspects related to pharmacology, epidemiology of resistant animal and zoonotic pathogens, mobile elements containing resistance genes, emerging antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, common aspects to virulence and antimicrobial resistance, and the role of the environment as a source of resistance genes transfer and dissemination will be discussed.
5 sessions
1. Monitoring and molecular epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance
Keynote speaker: Dik Mevius (The Netherlands)
«Surveillance of carbapenemase producing organisms in animals»
2. Role and prevalence of antibiosis and the related resistance genes in the environment
Keynote speaker: Ed Topp (Canada)
«The environmental dimension of antibiotic resistance»
3. Emerging antimicrobial resistance mechanisms in animal and zoonotic pathogens
Keynote speaker: Laura Piddock (UK)
«Antibiotic resistance in Salmonella: from phenotype to genotype and back again»
Keynote speaker: Vincent Burrus (Canada)
«When genomic islands hijack conjugative elements: parasitism among mobile genetic elements in Vibrio and Salmonella»
4. Antimicrobial resistance and virulence common themes
Keynote speaker: Josep Casadesus (Spain)
«Formation of bacterial lineages, host-pathogen interaction and antibiotic resistance»
5. Combating antimicrobial resistance
Keynote speaker: David Shlaes (USA)
«Antibiotic discovery and development - The greatest challenge»
You are cordially invited to submit abstracts of your best research on the ARAE 2015 website: www.arae2015.com
Deadline for submission of abstracts is April 15.
With best wishes,
